My name is Lauren. I’m 23 years old.
I was born in a medium-sized town in East Texas. For some reason, fate brought me to Austin for college. I graduated in May of 2008 with my BA in History, a Minor in Business, and a fire lit under my ass. Though I’m not sure what to do now that I’m out of school, I’m looking forward to figuring that out.
I’ve been blogging since 2002. I started out with an Easyjournal that has since been deleted for personal reasons, then moved on to Blogger, where I wrote Pink Post-Its Online obsessively for the better part of three years. When I decided I wasn’t going to quit writing anytime soon, I bought some webspace, invested some time, and here you are. I also write about fashion for Styledash.com and have previously written for Metroblogging Austin, Austinist, and the Daily Texan.
My blog mainly exists to help me keep my head together and I have no illusions of being a brilliant writer with a unique point of view, but I try to keep it somewhat entertaining, so I hope you enjoy it. I tend to write about my everyday life, the perils of being a twentysomething, trying to know God, things I’m mentally chewing over, weird things that happen to me and whatever else strikes my fancy.
I love Jesus, Alamo Drafthouse, bad movies, good mojitos, commercials, traveling, rap battling, celebrity gossip, Manhattan, Project Runway (obsessed with fashion), Top Chef (Hell, anything on Bravo), baking, singalongs, red shoes, cover songs and Conan O’Brien. I want to marry Sufjan Stevens. I say “dude” a lot. Most of all I love boys, sparkles, and sparkly boys.
