The Lady, her Laura and her Loves

Yesterday, while terrible and seemingly void of joy on the whole (I hope you’re happy, day-ruiner) there were a few bright spots.

- I saw Michael. My kind, sweet, silly, adorable boyfriend. Made everything a thousand times better. Got to see him and hug him and kiss him and be around him and I was so happeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! All my worries about us melt away when I get to be around him. Last night was super fun, after dinner Tony and his friend and I went to a couple of bookstores and shopped around…I haven’t gotten to peruse a bookstore in a long time. It felt so good to do it. I love bookstores.

“So yeah, Rent wasn’t as good as I wanted it to be. But now I have a huge crush on Anthony Rapp. I loooooooove him.”
“Hey Tony, ever notice how many guys Lauren loves more than me? There must be a thousand. So I guess I’m a thousand and first or something.”
I wrap my arms around him and give him a look that could melt butter. He smiles. I adore him.

-I got home after dinner and did some work on my computer, and looked up ticket prices for BNAT. To my horror, I notice for the first time that if I haven’t gotten my ticket by November 21st, they’ll start giving them away to standbys. I almost flip out. To lose my BNAT ticket would have been the crowning glory on a terrible day. I don’t know how I’d explain it to anyone. “I’m terrible at money management and it cost me the event of a lifetime”???? DOES THAT MAKE SENSE TO YOU?!? OF COURSE NOT!
So I turn on the wit and sparkle and email Harry, asking him if he thinks my ticket’s gone, apologizing for not getting it yet,
and hoping that he can work some magic to get me back in if I am, in fact, lost. And he writes:

I wouldn’t dream of getting rid of you. Buy it when you can.
You’re fine.

Harry

Spee. I love Harry Knowles.

And then…

-Laura and I decide that late-night kvetchery is in order so we go to Kerbey Lane and have conversation over queso and hot chocolate. We’re having a ball laughing and talking, and I feel much much better. Then our cute waiter brings us this huuuuge piece of cake and says it’s compliments of the management. Stunned! We’re all “…why?” and he said it was just because we’re lovely. Aww. The manager came by and we thanked him (and left a ginormous tip, 50% I think) and we chitted the chat about stuff and things. It was nice.

Yesterday my father told me that I shouldn’t live to please my parents. I’m not sure if it was bile or merely the tang of irony in my mouth but oh, it did not make things better. Not at all. But he’s right, and it’s started me thinking… there might be some change afoot.

I would like to thank Halie for listening to me yesterday and telling me that I’m not a massive waste of time. I would like to thank Laura for driving ass-far to get to my side in my hour of need. I would like to thank Steve and Brandon for listening as well. I would like to thank Harry Knowles for being a badass. Most of all I would like to thank God for making my friends wonderful and my boyfriend cute. Huzzah.

Well I guess I should finally speak on this sucker since I’ve become one of this blog’s points of interests. Hi fellow readers! This is Michael Domangue… The Freshman. You see “hisprof” is not a common word that you see every day so by doing a little bit of google work I came across this lovely blog of goodness and let me just say…

    Lauren, I’m your biggest fan!

I love this blog. Something about raw honesty mixed with childlike joy reminds me of me sometimes. Oh well. I read this blog about once a week just to make sure that you Lauren are doing ok and so I’m sure I’m not in the doghouse (uncomfortable place to live, if I do say so myself.)

Have a good day! And smile when you see a tiny animal run up a tree. That works for me after a bad exam.
