It’s no fun to be the man….
I woke up this morning to a blaring rendition of “Ascent of Stan” and was honestly surprised not to see Adrienne sleeping across the room. That summer, my first semester, was when I first fell in lurve with Ben Folds (Five) and that was the first song I ever heard besides “Brick”. I remember going “whoaaaa!” when that first piano riff played. Good lord, what an amazing song. But it does take me back to summer before last.
I wandered over to the entertainment office at the DT yesterday, and pitched an idea I had: maybe I could interview David Sedaris when he came to Austin. Because you know, that could be kindof cool. And they told me yes. So there is a good chance (since the DT has AMAAAAAZING connections) that I could get to interview my hero. My hero. The greatest humor writer in America right now, if not ever. Oh, I do love this man. If I get to interview him, I can’t even tell you how happy I’ll be. I’ll be soooo happy.
Jeff is beginning to show up at my parties. Not the ones I throw, that would be expected, but ones I just randomly attend. He’s always there. It’s really ironic, because back when I was just in love with him (see October) I would just hope and hope to bump into him, and now that he’s like my brother, I see him everywhere. It’s all gravy, though. I love Jeff :o)
Rush is this week, and that’ll be insane. I’m looking forward to it, though. I feel like we’ll get in a good pledge class this year. I get to be in a skit on wednesday. Oh, joy…. It’ll be fun.
I just got an email from the college of liberal arts sent supposedly only to LA students. hrm. Maybe my app for a history double went through. I checked the directory and I’m still just advertising, though.
liliaceae83: maybe it takes awhile to be updated to the directory
WOOLSOCKS1: maybe so
liliaceae83: that or it’s shameless propoganda to the new web editor ;-)
WOOLSOCKS1: and I say BRING IT ON
WOOLSOCKS1: I’m all about prostration before me
Kidding, of course. We’ll see what happens.
I’ll be presenting the schedule breakdown here in a couple days, once everything dies down. But I can tell you this much: I have music and some other classes. That’s all that matters. That’s everything you need to know.
Alright, I’m out like Melissa Etheridge. Peace.
Listening to:
Bush (the band, not the idiot.)

Melissa Etheridge??? What does that mean? Isn’t she gay?
MOM

Well, yes. And she’s openly gay, and therefore “out”. I was leaving and therefore unavailable and so rather than “in”, I was “out”. When people say they are “out like a light” they don’t really mean that their filaments have disconnected and are no long luminescent, so I figured I could make up a similar saying. Clearly, it was open to misinterpretation. I’m sorry.
Also, you KNOW I like boys! Mooooom!
